Fanlights
Bookmark and Share

image 1Fanlights were first introduced in the 1720's. Adding Fanlights and glazing into doors enabled more light to enter the previously dark hallways. Georgian designs first started with glass being set within wooden or metal semi-circular frame. Designs became more elaborate as metal work techniques improved. Rectangle frames became popular in late Georgian designs.
